Video game developer Velve has announced a brand-new Half-Life game that will be a VR-exclusive and the biggest Velve project jet. Though this game is not exactly Half-Life 3 it still looks quite impressive. The game is titled Half-Life: Alyx and the events of the game take place somewhere between Half-Life and Half-Life 2 and follows the story of Alyx Vance and her father Eli. In this game they form a resistance to take on the invasion of the Combine – an alien force. This story will fill in the story gap in which protagonist Gordon Freeman was in stasis.
Velve in game announcement says that Half-Life: Alyx “was designed from the ground up and features all of the hallmarks of a classic Half-Life game: world exploration, puzzle solving, visceral combat, and an intricately woven story that connects it all with the characters iconic to the Half-Life universe.”
The environment of the game will be familiar for players who have played Half-Life 2. It will be set in City 17 which is a dilapidated Eastern European city taken owner by alien force Combine. In the trailer we also see some weaponry inspired by Half-Life 2 – Gravity Gloves. These gloves can be used as a battle tool. In Half-Life 2 the gravity gun was given to Gordon Freeman and Alyx had gravity gloves. So, we can assume that these gloves can also be used to lift, pull and throw objects around. Though in VR there are probably a couple more things that you can do with them. The gloves also show health status, you can see three hearts on the left glove.

Though a specific date has not been set, the game will be released some time in March 2020 on Steam.
